Hon'd Sir
Your kind favour I rec'd of Cap't Hutchinson with the Deed for the land for which I am much obliged, a few days past died my wive's Father without a will. He died possest of a good estate great part of which lies in lands. He had a widow two sons & two daughters. We shall get at least L500 Sterling besides a plantation which my wives brother promises to give her emmediately, so that with yours & my other Friends kind assistance I hope to be on a tolerable footing again in the world, my wife & children desires to be remembered by you & their aunts. I have sent you a small box of oranges by Capt. Haugh of which beg your acceptance. Our trees are just beginning to bear again. We shall ship none but what goes as presents, I have not further to trouble you but am with the utmost regard
