Mr. Elias Hascall of Harvard is desirous of purchasing a tract of land belonging to me in Fitchburgh; he has made me an offer, in consequence of which, as I am unacquainted with the tract myself, and do not know the value of it, I apply to you, as a gentleman in whose judgement and integrity I can safely confide, to know whether upon your return home from the general court you would be so good as to view the land with Col. Abijah Willard of Lancaster, who will be ready to attend you, in order to determine as near as may be the real worth of the land. If you will be so kind as to attend that business, please to signify it to me by a line, upon the rec’t of which I will write you more particularly. Your experience, time and trouble will be paid for to your satisfaction, and the favor gratefully acknowledged by Sir,
Your most humble Serv’t
A. Oliver
Jedediah Foster Esq.
