Dear Lewis,

I wrote you yesterday, but thinking it quite likely I directed it to "New York"--I have to repeat that Mr. Gales deposition is ready–that we have been checked in taking Mr. Adams deposition by his refusing to answer Mr. Harris' cross interrogations until Mr. A. returns certain papers. You must try and get him to give up this point or the deposition will be useless.
