Dear Uncle Hugh,

Lee will hand you this in a P S. to a letter written to Maggie & Pa. I mentioned that if you would send a bbl of your whiskey I would rectify it and sell it to your townsman, Otho Barclay. This moment I have a note from Barclay saying that he wants a bbl. You had best send it by Lee covered in straw & apprehend no____. Please give Lee an early start in the morning. As I shoed expect him to reach here tomorrow night, I write in haste.

And and busy meeting,
And affectionately yours,
Andrew C Cowles

Barclay had better not know of my getting the_____of you as he is particular in regard to Yadkin distilled. If you wish to send more than one bbl you can do so.
