Dear Father,
My letter was not in time for the mail of last week. And I thought it best to add a few lines and send the same by the one now starting or about to. Our accounts have arrived from Washington, and there is not a word about us going or coming Home. So I must rest easy until my turn of service has expired. I am enjoying my usual good health trusting this to find you al in the enjoyment of good health. I remain,
Your affectionate son
Eugene
