Providence 18th Dec 1795

Dear Sir,

I rec’d your favor of 20th Nov. and one cask of Indigo. We were very happy to hear from you, and we wish you joy in your son. Sally is married to Mr. Zebudiah Lothrop and they have moved to Providence. Mrs. Lothrop has been doing business in Providence for 3 or 4 months. Your daughter came down and will return tomorrow with Mrs. Adams and myself. Miss Harriot went to see yr. house and was very much pleased with it. Father Adams is much as he was when I wrote you before. I carried him your letter and read it to him. He expressed a great deal of satisfaction to hearing of a grandson, wishes to live to see you next spring but he has not expectation of continuing so long. Daughter Mrs. Adams and Sally join in love and respect to you and Mrs. Thayer. We all anticipate a meeting with you next spring. I am as usual your friend.
